Primary Headache among Elderly People of Lahore

Background: Headache is a most common complaint seen among patients visiting neurologist and general physicians. The incidence of headache was reported between 12–50 percent elderly people. has ability to affect adversely the life quality patients, limits community domestic activities hence, carries significant disability burden. Objective: objective study investigate primary people Lahore. Material Methods: It prospective cross-sectional conducted in Lahore General Hospital, Patients aged 18 years above referred Neurology Outpatient Department LGH for were included. participants divided into 2 groups: 64 (younger patients) >65 (elderly patients). Results: Among 90 younger respondents mean age 28.7+5.3 while 75 75.6+8.7 years. In groups, 8.9% & 38.7% had mild headache, 47.8% 21 28.0% moderate 43.3% 25 33.3% severe respectively. 54.5% 10.7% migraine without aura, 14.5% 6.6% with 11.1% 4.0% chronic migraine, 10.0% 20.0% infrequent frequent episodic tension-type 3.3% 22.7% 1.1% 2.7% cluster 8.0% trigeminal neuralgia, 0.0% glossopharyngeal neuralgia 4.4% 22.6% unspecified Conclusion: Study concluded that started any time throbbing/pulsating <15 days per month more prevalent patients.
